The trial in the “Meydan TV” case has begun, APA reports.

During today’s hearing at the Baku Grave Crimes Court, presided over by Judge Ayten Aliyeva, the defendants’ personal details were clarified.

A motion requesting that the defendants be removed from the glass enclosure and seated next to their defense lawyers was granted, and it was stated that this will be implemented at the next hearing.

During the proceedings, a motion was also filed to terminate the criminal case, but it was denied.

Aynur Elgunesh’s lawyer requested that the preventive detention measure chosen for her be replaced with house arrest, citing health problems of the defendant.

Other lawyers also requested that detention measures for their clients be replaced with house arrest.

The motions were denied.

The criminal case has been referred for trial on the merits, and the first hearing has been scheduled for December 22.
