A motion has been submitted to the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg requesting the pretrial detention of Mutvali Shikhlinski, son of Shahin Shikhlinski, APA’s Russia bureau reports.

The case will be heard today at 16:00 in courtroom No. 5.

As reported earlier, Mutvali Shikhlinski, son of the Azerbaijani diaspora leader in Yekaterinburg, was detained yesterday and taken to the Investigative Committee. He was questioned regarding an incident that occurred on July 1 near Baku Plaza.

It should be recalled that following an operation targeting Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg on June 27, local law enforcement carried out another operation on July 1 against Shahin Shikhlinski, the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora. While driving, his vehicle was blocked by special forces, and both he and his son Mutvali Shikhlinski were forcibly detained. During the arrest, Mutvali, who was behind the wheel, panicked and reversed the car, causing it to hit a law enforcement officer, knocking him to the ground.
