Azerbaijan discloses number of human remains found in liberated territories during reconstruction works

The number of human remains found in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan during the reconstruction works has been disclosed, Senior Assistant to the Prosecutor General on special assignments Ilgar Safarov said at today's briefing jointly organized by the Prosecutor General's Office and the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons, APA reports.

He stated that with the participation of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons, the Public Legal Entity "Forensic-Medical Expertise and Pathological Anatomy Union" of the Ministry of Health, Azerbaijan National Academy of Science and the employees of the Azerbaijan Representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) an inspection of the scene was conducted.

Along with the mass burials, 32 human remains in 2022, 60 in 2023, and 4 in 2024 - a total of 107 remains of humans were found as a result of the reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories.
