The full operation of the Zangazur corridor will be a historic event and will make a significant contribution to the regional and global economy, said Özcan Aygün, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the panel titled "Zangazur Corridor: A Bridge Connecting Turkish Geography" held at the Solidarity Forum of NGOs from the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States, APA reports.
He said that the Zangazur corridor will primarily provide significant benefits to the economies of the region and the country, as well as the world economy:
"If the opening of the Suez Canal made great contributions to the countries of the region and the global economy, the Zangazur corridor will also be the beginning of serious changes in the regional economy," he noted.
