Zangazur corridor is currently not under review due to Armenia not having a precise position, said Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Russian co-chairman of the Trilateral Working Group on the opening of transport communications in the South Caucasus, APA reports.
According to him, the option of bypassing Armenia to Nakhchivan and the border with Türkiye through Iran is slightly different from the route through Zangazur: "It is estimated that the railway passing through the territory of Armenia will be 42 km, and about 50 km through the territory of Iran. The whole difference is this: two bridges and 8 km."
