Russian MFA commented on the protest on Lachin-Shusha held by Azerbaijani eco-activists, APA reports.
Official representative of Russian MFA, Maria Zakharova expressed her worries over the situation at the briefing she held.
She linked what happened with the difference of opinions between sides, regarding the exploitation of mineral deposits.
“We hope for the restoration of transport relations in the near future,” added M. Zakharova.
Maria Zakharova stressed that the Russian peacekeeping contingent actively works on reducing tension.
The spokeswoman highlighted that the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia took on contractual obligations while signing the trilateral agreement and it should be followed.
Russian MFA spokeswoman also commented on the accusations addressed to peacekeepers. She said that Russian peacekeeping forces act as a provider of security in the region and follow their obligations fully.
