The new format of cooperation between Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran and Georgia will contribute peace and stability, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Cavusoglu made the remarks at a press conference following the first quadrilateral meeting with his Azerbaijani, Iranian and Georgian counterparts in Baku on March 15, APA reports.

"Today's new format has been established between countries with shared historic and cultural backgrounds. Turkey has mutual projects with all three countries and this friendship and brotherhood are expanding every day,” he said.

Cavusoglu reiterated Turkey’s support for the territorial integrity of all countries, especially these countries.

“We will fight against the difficulties we face. We will further expand our ties in all spheres, especially in the economic sphere. We need to expand our transport network to develop trade, investment and relations between peoples. This format is important for future projects," he added.
