Russia's newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov arrived in Baku this morning, spokesman for Russia's Embassy in Azerbaijan Denis Apashkin told APA.
He noted that further information would be provided.
On May 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Mikhail Bocharnikov as Russia’s new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Azerbaijan.
Bocharnikov previously served as Russia's ambassador to Kazakhstan from 2006 to February 2018.
He replaced Vladimir Dorokhin who was dismissed from the post of Russia’s ambassador to Azerbaijan on November 2017.
