The EU will remain a reliable partner of Azerbaijan, Denis Daniilidis, Head of Political, Economics and Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, said on Friday.
He made the remarks at an international conference “The South Caucasus in the international arena: Cooperation and competition in and around the region”, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of Caucasus International magazine, APA reported.
Daniilidis noted that EU-Azerbaijan relations have entered a new stage, outlining that Azerbaijan’s role in the Islamic world is important and the country can make contributions to intercultural dialogue.
“There is a need for political stability in this region, which is highly important for business. We’re in talks with Azerbaijan on a new agreement. We need to strengthen strategic cooperation in the energy sector. We now know each other far better as parties,” he added.
