"Cooperation in the liberated territories is one of the important issues between the two countries," Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said at a press conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan-Iran diplomatic relations, APA reports.
"We are very delighted that these lands were liberated. We have a 132 km border with Azerbaijan in these areas, and we are ready to cooperate in those territories. This issue was discussed at a meeting of the President of Azerbaijan with Iranian officials. We expect experienced Iranian companies to take part in the reconstruction of these lands, "the ambassador said.
The diplomat noted that two border checkpoints are expected to be opened between Iran and Azerbaijan: "One of them is in Khudafar and the other is in Parsabad."
