War threatens Ukraine's biodiversity, says OSCE PA President

"I am glad to participate in this important conference. We remember every day that the resources of the planet Earth are a gift to humanity, and we must protect them and pass them on to future generations. I thank Azerbaijan for hosting this important conference," President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Margareta Cederfelt said at the international conference on "The role of national parliaments in promoting security and stability through green economy, transport coordination, and sustainable development" held in Baku, APA reports.

She stressed that constructive discussions and contacts are important for sustainable development.

OSCE PA President Margareta Cederfelt also touched on Russia's war in Ukraine: "This war threatens and destroys the security of Ukraine's environment and biodiversity."

She said that peace and trust are important issues in the world today.
