“I convey the personal greetings of the President of the United States to you and to the people of Azerbaijan,” said U.S. Vice President James David Vance at a joint press conference held after the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, APA reports.
Vance stated that the United States and Azerbaijan have long engaged in important strategic cooperation: “Perhaps many people do not know this, but Azerbaijan was among the last countries to leave Afghanistan. We conducted operations under difficult conditions and were able to maintain our reputation during that time.”
