Uzbek political scientist: President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Tashkent gives impetus to regional dialogue

The invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia held in Tashkent has received a positive response from the public, said Ranokhon Tursunova, Professor at the Department of Political Science at the Tashkent University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Doctor of Historical Sciences in a statement to APA.

According to her, this format is of particular importance in terms of strengthening trust among countries, expanding regional dialogue, and bringing cooperation on issues of mutual interest to a practical level.

“Azerbaijan’s participation in the meeting opens new opportunities for exchanging views and coordinating joint actions in critical areas such as security, the economy, transport infrastructure, and humanitarian fields. Against the backdrop of a changing global geopolitical environment, strengthening regional integration becomes one of the key factors in ensuring stability and sustainable development in Central Asia,” she added.

The Uzbek political scientist noted that the invitation addressed to President Ilham Aliyev is a strategically significant step toward deepening constructive dialogue in the region and strengthening good-neighborly relations: “This initiative also serves as an important political signal in terms of the emerging multipolar international order and regional security.”
