Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have paved a path that will serve as an example to the world, said Jamila Shermukhammedova, a deputy of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Uzbekistan, APA's correspondent dispatched to Tashkent reports.
The deputy said that today the concept of large and small countries has lost its relevance: "There are simply countries, and each of them has its own identity. This identity determines national values, spiritual and cultural heritage, history, development path and place in the system of international relations. The relations formed between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan today are just such a spiritual bridge, this bridge conveys our people's vision, attitude and culture to the world."
Jamila Shermukhammedova noted that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are two native homes for her: “It is impossible to separate the love for these peoples from each other. Spiritual and philosophical thinking is impossible without reading the heritage of geniuses such as Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi and drawing inspiration from them. That is why I think that both President Ilham Aliyev and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have united at the same strategic point today. It is about further strengthening the bridge of friendship. Because we need both economic development and regional cooperation. Just as the Caspian Sea is the foundation of Azerbaijan's economic development, this cooperation is also an indicator of the universal friendship of the two peoples. When I study the political history of the past and present, I see that these two leaders - two great political phenomena - have paved a path that will be an example to the world. God has given our peoples rich above-ground and underground resources. These blessings are a test for us, and we must protect them carefully. Today, the presidents - both Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev - have chosen the right strategy and are on the right path. Our people should feel this with their hearts and support this path. Both states are pursuing the right strategy, have paved a phenomenal path, and this path will become an example for the whole world in the future. If both Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have a common history measured in millennia, then our path and destiny are the same."
