U.S. Secretary of State: Now is time for Azerbaijan and Armenia to sign peace treaty

The United States commends Armenia and Azerbaijan for concluding negotiations on a historic peace treaty, it was stated in the statement that the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has issued regarding the completion of negotiations on the draft Agreement on Peace and the establishment of Interstate Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, APA reports.

He said that this is an opportunity for both countries to turn the page on a decades old conflict in line with President Trump’s vision for a more peaceful world: "Now is the time to commit to peace, sign and ratify the treaty, and usher in a new era of prosperity for the people of the South Caucasus."

Note that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia issued a statement announcing the completion of negotiations on the draft of the Agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
