“The United States is ready to play a role in promoting reconciliation between Turkey and Armenia. We welcome both countries to establish diplomacy and dialogue,” said US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried in her speech at 30 years of US-Caspian Diplomatic Relations webinar organized by Caspian Policy Center, APA reports.
She stressed that they were impressed by the first meeting of Armenian and Turkish special envoys held in January.
“The Turkish-Armenian dialogue has the potential to increase regional stability and create a more prosperous future for the region,” Karen Donfried noted.
