US Department of State has commented on the visit of David Babayan, who introduced himself as so-called Foreign minister separatist Nagorno-Karabakh, to Washington, APA reports.
Speaker of the US Department of State has said in response to APA's query that the State Department has no relation to Babayan's visit.
"The United States does not recognize the self-proclaimed “republic of Artsakh.” The State Department is also not a part of this reported visit.
Visa records are confidential under U.S. law; therefore, we cannot comment on individual cases. Visa applications to visit the United States are adjudicated in accordance with all applicable law, including the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and relevant regulations," noted Speaker.
