Azerbaijan can play a regional coordinating role in the energy sector, said Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President, International Member Relations and Senior Vice President, Middle East and Türkiye at the US Chamber of Commerce, regarding Azerbaijan’s regional importance in the energy sector during a meeting with journalists, APA reports.

According to him, Azerbaijan's strong and developed infrastructure creates conditions for diversifying the economy and ensuring sustainable economic growth through the efficient use of energy resources.
Choksi noted that this factor opens up new opportunities for the country’s development in various directions.

The Senior Vice President noted that this potential is also clearly visible in the tourism sector. According to him, the growing number of tourists visiting the country, the development of ski resorts, modern infrastructure, and Baku’s rich historical heritage are among the examples that demonstrate Azerbaijan’s capabilities.

Khush Choksy also paid special attention to Azerbaijan’s strategic geographic location. He stated that the country’s position between East and West plays an important role in meeting Europe’s energy demand, developing transport routes, logistics, manufacturing, and strengthening North–South connectivity.

According to him, as regional development continues, Azerbaijan’s role as an energy hub will further increase. Choksi added that the country is located in such a strategic position that it provides access to several markets beyond its borders.
