“Multilateralism has never been more important than now”, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Tatiana Valovaya said as she read out a letter by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau.
In his address, the UN Secretary-General welcomed the NAM’s putting forward global climate agenda.
“I hope you will support the climate solidarity act of the NAM member states. I appreciate Azerbaijan’s recommendations and initiatives as the chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement in this tough time. We highly appreciate Azerbaijan's initiatives and calls regarding the pandemic. We now need more multilateral cooperation so that we can avoid conflicts. We can address problems through collective efforts. The NAM builds a bridge between different cultures and national interests. I believe in your efforts and cooperation in building a sustainable future. Let's take this path together for a better world,” the Secretary-General said in his letter.
