“Today Azerbaijan has opened a new page in its agenda. It is related to the reestablishment of the liberated territories from the occupation,” said Assistant to Azerbaijani President Hikmat Hajiyev at the meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan-UN relations held in Shusha, APA reports.
According to him, Azerbaijan sees the UN as a partner of Azerbaijan in this process too: “Recently, the UN, World Bank, EU representatives visited the liberated territories from the occupation. They have already shared preliminary proposals and advice with the Azerbaijani government. UN institutions are also in close cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of demining.
Assistant to the President noted that the mine problem is one of the main obstacles in the development agenda of Azerbaijan.
Hikmet Hajiyev stressed that Azerbaijan is an exemplary country in the fight against pandemics.
