Delegation led by Member of the UK House of Commons and head of the UK-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Bob Blackman are in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The delegation members travelled to the de-occupied town of Agdam as part of their current visit on 6 April. There, they saw with their own eyes the aftermath of the vandalism that had over the place during the Armenian occupation. They also saw the ruins of the Aghdam Mosque and the State Dramatic Theatre of Aghdam.
The visitors were informed in detail of Armenia’s war crime and Armenia having destroyed our heritage and religious sites, and about the numerous Armenian mines planted in that area. Besides, they were told that Aghdam had been one of the largest and most advanced towns of not only Garabagh but also the whole of Azerbaijan prior to its occupation by Armenia. The Armenian invaders then plundered, destroyed and torched dwelling houses, public buildings, nursery and secondary schools, hospitals and factories of the town as well as of the villages of the Aghdam Province. The Armenian vandals didn't even hesitate to destroy local Shahid Alley and other cemeteries. On a bright note, the guests were told about the large-scale restoration of the province that had begun immediately upon its liberation from the occupiers; the British MPs were shown the master plan of Aghdam and went on to have a conversation with the ANAMA people clearing Aghdam of mines.
Bob Blackman gave a press interview and shared his impressions from what he had seen over there.
Head of the Azerbaijan-UK inter-parliamentary connexions working group Soltan Mammadov and other officials kept the British delegation company on that visit.
