On December 23, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with a delegation led by Türkiye’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to participate in the 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA.
The Milli Majlis Speaker spoke about the significance of the 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission held in Baku.
The Speaker noted that today relations in the fields of economy, trade, education, tourism, inter-parliamentary cooperation, and other areas are strengthening day by day. During the conversation, it was emphasized that the personal relations and close contacts between the heads of state are the main factor ensuring the consistent development of allied relations. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova conveyed her congratulations on Türkiye being chosen as the host of COP31 and stated that Azerbaijan always stands by its brotherly country.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, met with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, Cevdet Yilmaz posted on his "X" account, APA reports.
Vice President discussed bilateral relations, regional processes, and inter-parliamentary cooperation with Sahiba Gafarova.
"Azerbaijan's valuable support for the COP31 process to be held in Antalya in 2026, multilateral cooperation in the Turkic world, and mechanisms that will contribute to regional peace were also the main topics of our discussion," he noted.
