"We see the protocol we signed with Azerbaijan regarding the national combat aircraft KAAN as a new sign of solidarity between the two countries," President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during his speech at the closing ceremony of the IDEF-23 16th International Defense Industry Fair held in Istanbul, APA's Türkiye correspondent reports.
He also stressed that KAAN will take its first flight by the end of this year.
Türkiye supports short and long-term cooperation with its partners as well, not just buying and selling, Erdogan added.
Turkish leader emphasized that his country will continue to support friendly and allied countries from now on as well.
