The Zangezur Corridor is significant in terms of the Middle Corridor, as well as for establishing a direct connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said at a press conference, APA reports.
According to Hakan Fidan, Türkiye wants a final peace agreement to be signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The head of the foreign ministry emphasized that Türkiye intends to normalize relations with Armenia:
“For this, the necessary will exists in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Armenia.”
He added that he had discussed the framework document for the implementation of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. According to Fidan, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has also been informed about the framework document.
“The TRIPP framework document was published during the visit of the Armenian foreign minister to Washington. I held a two-hour discussion on this issue with my esteemed colleague Jeyhun Bayramov. For us, the Azerbaijani side’s perspective is important. President Erdoğan has also been briefed on the matter,” Fidan said.
