A commemorative event has been held at Türkiye's embassy in Azerbaijan on Democracy and National Unity Day, APA reports.
Delivering a speech at a commemorative event, Türkiye's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Cahit Bağçı, said the July 15 coup d'état attempt was one of the most important rings of rebellion in Türkiye over the years.
Cahit Bağçı added that Türkiye understands the rebel attempt as an operation against a country that has become a global player.
The ambassador said that on July 15, there were Turkish flags in various parts of Anatolia, along with Azerbaijani flags, "just as there were Turkish flags everywhere when Karabakh was liberated."
The ambassador said that during this difficult time, the two countries demonstrated solidarity and brotherhood.
"Türkiye and Azerbaijan support and continue to support each other on each platform. On platforms where one is and the other is not, Azerbaijan and Türkiye will continue to be the voices of each other in the righteous fights," he added.
