Turkish Ambassador: We stand by Azerbaijan today, and we will remain together in the future as well

Following the 2020 Karabakh war, Azerbaijan has fully restored its sovereignty throughout its entire territory, thereby fulfilling the aspirations of the martyrs, said Türkiye’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgün, during his visit to the Alley of Martyrs, APA reports.

The ambassador noted that today marks the 36th anniversary of the manifestation of the national will demonstrated by the Azerbaijani people on the path to freedom and independence: “Despite all difficulties, in those harsh conditions, the Azerbaijani people put forward their will for independence and sovereignty. For the sake of a free and independent Azerbaijan, and in the name of the Türkiye–Azerbaijan brotherhood, we have always stood by Azerbaijan. We stand by Azerbaijan today, and we will remain together in the future as well.”

Birol Akgün expressed his wish for the Azerbaijan–Türkiye brotherhood to endure forever and prayed for God’s mercy upon the martyrs.
