The Secretariat of the Baku Parliamentary Platform to be located in Baku

“It is proud to hold such an event in Baku at a time of geopolitical sensibility,” Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament and Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the OSCE PA Bahar Muradova said at Parliament Conference on Regional Security and Cooperation” and “Baku Parliament Platform on Dialog and Cooperation” held in Baku with the organization of Milli Majlis and within the framework of close cooperation with OSCE PA.

B. Muradova said that the purpose of the establishment of the Baku Parliamentary Platform is the conflicts as a result of challenges in the OSCE area, the confrontation between peoples and religious confessions. “Military conflicts have increased weapons talks more than us. Crime and crime do not recognize any boundaries. It is not a coincidence the emergence of such initiatives with the attendance of South Caucasus and prestigious European countries. This platform can give great contributions to security in the region by attracting more members to their ranks in the future. It is important for the position of parliaments against threats to the territorial integrity of the victims. South Caucasus has great energy resources, flexible transport infrastructure”

Vice-speaker highlighted that one of the key purposes of created Platform is promoting activities of governments in countries and enlarging the relations in transportation spheres: “We can join our power against global threats and realize new ideas. We can implement joint projects on researching conflicts in South Caucasus. We are at the beginning of the road of contributing to the friendship between our nations and parliaments. Secretariat of the Platform will be located in Baku”.
