Azerbaijan’s State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons has been keeping in the spotlight the issue of the Azerbaijani citizen, resident of the Yukhary Salahli village of Gazakh district, Elvin Ibrahimov, currently under detention in Armenia, since March 16, 2019, when the incident took place, the State Commission told ONA.
The State Commission has already sent an appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with regard to freeing Elvin Ibrahimov, and it has been noted that Ibrahimov is suffering from mental illness and intellectual disability.
On March 19, 2019, the employees of the ICRC Armenia office visited E. Ibrahimov in the hospital. It was noted that there are no problems regarding E. Ibrahimov’s health condition and the treatment of his leg wound, which he suffered while crossing into the opposite side, is continuing.
The State Commission once again emphasizes the necessity of freeing the detained persons in accordance with the “all for all” principle.
