The Zangezur corridor project will be beneficial for the entire region, said Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili in response to a question from journalists about whether Georgia will lose its functions in the Middle Corridor after the opening of the Zangezur corridor, APA's local bureau reports.
Shalva Papuashvili said that Georgia welcomes the Zangezur corridor initiative: "The peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia opens up new prospects for the region as a whole, and this is not only related to the function of the transport corridor. This is important in terms of offering better conditions to carriers, and competition creates a more favorable basis for this. On the other hand, this is an indicator of the stability of the region. Stability will increase investments both in the provision of infrastructure around the corridor and in various sectors in the region."
