"The situation in Ukraine is very difficult, there are battles everywhere, including the city of Kyiv," said Elmira Akhundova, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine, APA reports.

"The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has already identified three routes for the evacuation of our compatriots from Ukraine. The safest of them is the Moldovan route. Because it is relatively short, about 600 km, and 500 km to the Romanian border. From there it is possible to fly to Istanbul and then to Baku. Of course, this is a long route, but this is the most realistic. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also recommended the route to Poland and Slovakia. There are problems there. At present, about 100 of our compatriots are concentrated on the Polish border. Ukrainian border guards do not let them in for some reason. Although our Foreign Ministry has held talks with the Polish Foreign Ministry and reached an agreement. But they do not let our compatriots. We also conveyed this to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. The situation there is tense," said E. Akhundova.

According to Elmira Akhundova, civilians are already killed in Ukraine.

"Already 198 people have been killed and more than 1,000 injured in Ukraine, including minors. "Unfortunately, our compatriots Natalia Farzaliyeva and her daughter Sabina, citizens of Ukraina of Azerbaijani origin, were killed and their son Zaur was injured," the ambassador said.
