Shusha hosts meeting dedicated to 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan-UN partnership-VIDEO-UPDATED

A meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Azerbaijan-UN partnership was held in Shusha, APA reports.

Assistant to Azerbaijani President Hikmat Hajiyev noted that efficient discussions were held within the framework of the meeting.

According to H. Hajiyev Azerbaijan supports the agenda of the UN.

Assistant to the President stated that the Government of Azerbaijan encourages UN institutions to take a more active part in the reconstruction process in the liberated territories.

Shusha is hosting a meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Azerbaijan-UN partnership, APA reports.

Meeting participants have firstly arrived at the air gate of Karabakh - Fuzuli International Airport by plane, then arrived in Shusha through "Victory Road" after close familiarization with the airport.

Main purpose of the Shusha meeting is to establish a favorable platform for review of the path in Azerbaijan-UN partnership, covered in the direction of Sustainable Development Purposes, to discuss new priorities and opportunities of Azerbaijan in post-pandemic and post-conflict realities.

Discussions are on two panels within the framework of the meeting. In the first panel, modern challenges and opportunities in the field of Sustainable Development Purposes during the post-conflict period will be reviewed. An exchange of views will be conducted around issues such as provision of safe and decent return of former IDPs to the territories liberated from occupation, use of "green energy" potential, humanitarian mine activity, etc. here.

Situation in the world after the COVID-19 pandemic, post-pandemic realities, assessment of opportunities to reduce the socio-economic impact of the pandemic on the global environment, Azerbaijan's global initiatives in this area will be discussed at the second panel.

High-level state and government officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan, UN Resident Coordinator in the country, heads of UN agencies in Azerbaijan are represented at the meeting.
