“Russia officially recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. Thus, situation on Lachin corridor should be viewed from this perspective,” said Dmitry Savelyev, a member of the Committee for Security and Combatting Corruption, deputy coordinator of Russia-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group while criticizing pro-Armenian Russian MP Konstantin Zatulin’s words regarding the situation on Lachin road, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
"I’d like to note several important points regarding Konstantin Zatuli’s statement. Firstly, I’d like to remind you that Russia officially recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and the situation should be understood from this perspective”
He said that the natural resources of Azerbaijan in Karabakh were illegally exploited by the Armenians, and therefore the public dissatisfaction of the Azerbaijani side was justified: "Such statements, without a doubt, don’t serve Russia’s interests and don’t support the movement towards peace. We consider improper interference in even the most complex political process as unacceptable. I am sure that all interested parties understand that this is only Mr. Zatulin's personal opinion and in no way represents the official position of our country”.
