“There were very few countries in the world that supported Azerbaijan during the Second Garabagh War, and one of them was Saudi Arabia,” said Farid Shafiyev, the Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) at a meeting with delegation from Saudi Arabia titled “South Caucasus - Middle East region: Geopolitics and cooperation”, APA reports.

He said that Saudi Arabia did not establish diplomatic relations with Armenia for keeping Azerbaijani lands under occupation for many years.

“In case of Garabagh issue, not only we encountered a military occupation, we, as well as, were also subjected to a smear campaign by the Western media. Saudi Arabia has also encountered these double standards. While Saudi Arabia's fighting against the Houthis is condemned, now Western states launching missiles at the Houthis is considered normal."
