Russia's Liberal Democratic Party leader: "Karabakh has returned home"

"Today's Azerbaijan is a country where people want to live. The ideas, plans and programs founded by Heydar Aliyev are implemented in the country," Leonid Slutsky, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, chairman of the State Duma's International Relations Committee, told reporters at the event organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia on the commemoration day of national leader Heydar Aliyev, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

He reminded that Heydar Aliyev did a lot for the main areas of the Soviet Union - science, industry, economy.

Slutsky noted that our country has been an independent state in the field of energy for a long time thanks to the oil contracts established by Heydar Aliyev.

"Azerbaijan is a country that provides energy to many countries of the world."

The Russian politician said that Karabakh, which was the most terrible conflict in the South Caucasus, was resolved in the way laid by Heydar Aliyev:

"Karabakh has returned home. What is the most terrible and bloodiest conflict in the South Caucasus, and I always said that we cannot leave the resolution of this conflict to our children and grandchildren... The basis for the solution of this conflict was solved by the way laid by Heydar Aliyev. Heydar Aliyev's son, my friend, can be fully proud of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who continues the work of his genius father and confidently leads his country and people forward on the path of progress. Seeing today's Azerbaijan living by the principles and testaments of Heydar Aliyev, we honor the memory of this great man who laid the foundation of a prosperous country. Today, the world knows, respects and loves Azerbaijan.
