“Paris's attempts to interfere in Moscow's relations with Baku and Yerevan are doomed to failure,” says the statement of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on French President Emanuel Macron’s thoughts in the interview, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

It was brought to the attention that this will lead to the devaluation of France's influence in the region.

“We consider Emmanuel Macron's statements that Russia is allegedly using the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to destabilize the South Caucasus as unacceptable. Such attacks conform to the West’s anti-Russian line directed to demonize Russia and it testifies to attempts to transfer the logic of conflict from Ukraine to other parts of the post-Soviet space, including the South Caucasus. French President’s absurd thoughts show that Paris is not interested in the establishment of lasting peace in the region and questions his country's ability to play a constructive role,” reads the statement of Russian MFA.
