Russian Foreign Ministry believes that if France wants to mediate, it should take into account the position of both Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said as she gave a briefing today, APA reports.
“We reiterated that on the one hand, we welcome all initiatives regarding the normalization of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations that do not contradict, repeat, or disrupt Russian efforts. On the other hand, France's activity in this direction is well known to us. In the framework of such mediation efforts, it is necessary to take into account the position of both sides of the conflict, that is, both Azerbaijan and Armenia. Without them, it is not worth hoping for any progress in settling the situation. This is the alpha and omega of all mediation," said the Russian MFA spokesman.
