"We consider that normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations will help to the improvement of the general situation in the region. Of course, it will help to the forming of a healthy friendly neighborhood, an environment of trust in the region and among countries and nations", noted the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of Russia Maria Zakharova at today's briefing, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
"In terms of this, we appreciate the position on starting a bilateral dialogue demonstrated by Ankara and Yerevan. Appointment of the special representatives by the parties with this purpose, we think, is a logical and smart step. We ready to provide every support to this process by our side", said a Russian MFA official.
M. Zakharova has also talked about the first meeting held at the "3+3" regional cooperation format in Moscow on December 10: "Armenian and Turkish representatives have also attended the meeting in this format. This format will help Armenian-Turkish relations come closer. Let me note once again that we will welcome all steps taken by Turkey and Armenia that will help to build mutual trust, and will help".
