“The ‘Russian House’ in Azerbaijan has operated for a long time in the country without registration,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a press conference on the results of the year, APA reports.
The minister said that any institution can operate in accordance with the country’s legislation: “Respect for national legislation is essential for the operation of any institution. The activities of such institutions are not accepted in any form if conducted unilaterally. The decision to close the Russian House was made for this reason. The most recent contacts regarding the Russian House took place several weeks ago. Certain incomplete processes related to liquidation, including salaries and other matters, remained. The Russian side appointed liquidators from the center, and they arrived in Azerbaijan. The Russian Embassy applied to us and requested support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We provided the necessary assistance to ensure the completion of the remaining issues. The liquidation of the Russian House has been fully completed, and nothing remains unfinished.”
