Russian Foreign Ministry: Trilateral Statements form the basis of normalization of Baku-Yerevan relations

"The basis for the normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations is the trilateral statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia," said Maria Zakharova, Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry at a briefing today, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

She recalled that last week the Russian President discussed with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia all the complex issues related to the implementation of certain agreements:

"This topic was in the spotlight during the talks between the Russian and Armenian Foreign Ministers in Moscow on April 8, as well as during a telephone conversation between the Russian Foreign Minister and his Azerbaijani counterpart. The talks focused on the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the opening of transport links in the South Caucasus and the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Russia will continue to assist in the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan."
