“Ankara is not a party to the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia,” spokeswoman for Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told a briefing as she commented on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement that "Russian peacekeepers will leave Karabakh by 2025, at the NATO summit in Vilnius, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
In her words, it is on the basis of this document that Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the Karabakh conflict zone.
"It is in this document that the parameters of the peacekeeping contingent's stay and possible extension to the next five-year period are clearly stated,” Zakharova noted.
