"To be precise, prisoners of war mentioned in the 9 November Statement, are those who captured until that time," said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the joint press conference on finals of negotiations with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to Lavrov, Armenian servicemen in Azerbaijan were detained after the 9 November statement, at the end of November.
Lavrov said that, despite all of these, a signal is sent to the Azerbaijani side in contacts of Russian President with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as well as at other levels, a call is made for releasing the detainees without putting forward any condition: "It would be an important humanitarian step. We will continue to demonstrate this position. Certainly, the final decision does not depend on us. We actively support all mutual confidence measures," stressed Russian FM.
