Moscow is considering the possibility of dialogue with Yerevan regarding the parameters of its participation in the TRIPP project, said Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, in an interview with Izvestia, APA reports.
The diplomat noted that the Russian side maintains its position on this initiative, but that the details of the Armenia–U.S. project still need to be carefully studied.
“Russian railways are used in the region. Our border guards are stationed on the Iran–Armenia border. Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union must also be taken into account. Under these conditions, it is clear that partners cannot resolve this matter without Russia,” Galuzin emphasized.
Galuzin also stressed that Russia is ready for consultations with its partners in Yerevan and plans to discuss concrete forms of Moscow’s participation in the implementation of this transport corridor.
