"Russia continues to provide assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan in signing the peace treaty," said a spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at a briefing, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
Zakharova recalled the recent visits of Igor Khovayev, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, to Yerevan and Baku and his contacts there.
According to her, both the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides expressed their interest in Russia's mediation: "Considering the sensitivity of the issue on the peace agreement, I will not go into the details of the consultations. I can again confirm that we are ready to organize the next meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Moscow."
