Russia has always respected and continues to respect the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said in his meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, APA's Moscow correspondent reports citing the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the situation in the South Caucasus and the ongoing peace process between Baku and Yerevan were discussed. Rudenko emphasized that Russia has consistently shown respect for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, referencing the statement made by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 15th this year. According to him, Russia is fully committed to the spirit and letter of the bilateral Declaration on Allied Partnership.
"Moreover, it does not relinquish the responsibility to resolve all outstanding issues, including ensuring the rights and security of the population of Karabakh, through peaceful political and diplomatic means, as part of the process of normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
The Russian side has confirmed its readiness to organize a trilateral meeting of foreign ministers in Moscow in the near future. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the agreement on the peace treaty, which will be signed at the summit of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia in Moscow. Additionally, the meeting will focus on exploring ways to effectively implement the agreements reached," stated in the report of the Russian Foreign Ministry about the Bulbuloglu-Rudenko meeting.
