Residents of Fuzuli send a letter to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan

The residents of Fuzuli city have sent a letter to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, APA reports.

The letter reads:

“Honourable Gurbanguly Malikgulyyevich,

The deep historical, cultural, ethnic, linguistic, and religious ties formed over centuries between the Azerbaijani and Turkmen peoples constitute the solid foundation of relations between our two brotherly countries. Our friendship and brotherhood, built upon these strong foundations, have further deepened thanks to Your Excellency’s humanitarian initiatives.

We are proud to emphasize that the Charity Foundation for Children in Need of Guardianship named after Your Excellency, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, not only preserves the noble moral values of compassion, benevolence, and humanism, but also successfully fulfills the mission of serving as a spiritual bridge between our friendly and brotherly nations.

One of the brightest examples of this noble mission is your initiative to construct a mosque in Azerbaijan’s liberated city of Fuzuli. We received this initiative with great satisfaction and deep gratitude. This humanitarian gesture, a valuable contribution to the reconstruction process in Karabakh, is a vivid manifestation of the friendship and brotherhood between our two countries, as well as of our religious-spiritual solidarity, humanitarian cooperation, and mutual trust.

The virtual groundbreaking ceremony of the Fuzuli mosque held on October 7 in Qabala, during the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, together with the heads of state and government of Turkic countries, has given this benevolent project additional spiritual and historical significance. This initiative also reflects the high importance attached to the shared values of the Turkic world, Islamic culture, and the spiritual revival of our liberated lands.

We would particularly like to note that the respected work you carry out within the Organization of Turkic States, as well as in the Council of Elders, along with your wise appeals and messages for the unity, solidarity, and development of the Turkic World, are followed with great respect and high appreciation.

Your visit to Karabakh in July 2025, including your visit to the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque in Shusha, and the prayers you offered for the souls of our heroes who rose to the peak of martyrdom for the Motherland, were received with deep reverence by our people as a shining example of brotherhood, devotion to spiritual values, and respect for historical heritage.

We believe that the twinning of the cities of Fuzuli and Arkadag, initiated by Your Excellency, will further strengthen interpersonal ties.

Your great attention and spiritual support are warmly welcomed by the residents of Fuzuli and evoke deep feelings of gratitude in our hearts, bringing new spirit, confidence, and hope to the spiritual life of our region. This noble step, as a reflection of our brotherhood and solidarity, will remain forever in the memory of the grateful Azerbaijani people.

We, the residents of Fuzuli, are eagerly looking forward to the opening of this mosque—which is being constructed in Fuzuli and will become a spiritual symbol of Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan brotherhood—with Your Excellency’s participation and blessings in the near future!

We wish you strong health, long life, and continuous success in your future activities for the well-being of the people of Turkmenistan.
