"Equality, mutual respect, energy security, fight against international crime, and cooperation in peacekeeping operations between Azerbaijan and the United States should be noted," Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference dedicated to the results of 2022 while answering a question about the priorities of Azerbaijan's relations with the United States, APA reports.
Mr. Bayramov said that Azerbaijan's successful energy policy makes a great contribution to Europe: "The US had a great political support for these projects, and US companies participated in these projects."
The foreign minister noted that there is a very intensive dialogue between the United States and Azerbaijan: "There were important initiatives of the United States regarding mediation in ensuring sustainable peace in the region. Representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia met with the mediation of the United States, and the second round of Azerbaijan-Armenia peace talks was organized in Washington. The United States is actively contributing to the peace process."
Top Diplomat recalled the telephone calls of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during the year, the meeting of Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev, with Jake Sullivan, National Security Adviser of the President of the United States, Joseph Biden, and Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia. Bayramov stressed that the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States are great.
