On March 11, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, was received by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as part of his official visit to Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for the prompt and comprehensive support provided in connection with the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane near Aktau city in December of last year.
It was noted that the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan strategic partnership relations are exemplary, as of open and sincere relationships based on historical brotherhood, shared customs, traditions, culture, and language, as well as mutual respect and trust between the heads of states.
The importance of further intensifying the rich cooperation between the two countries in political-economic, trade-investment, industrial-technology, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian, scientific-educational, and other fields with new driving elements was emphasized.
The cooperation based on mutual support, solidarity, and joint initiatives in regional and international organizations, particularly within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, was praised. Grattitude was expressed for President Tokayev's participation in the 29th session of the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) held in Azerbaijan last November, and Kazakhstan's support for initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan was highly appreciated.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues of mutual interest, as well as regional developments and the latest developments in the post-conflict period.

During the meeting, the Kazakh leader noted that Azerbaijan is not only a brotherly country for Kazakhstan but also a strategic partner and ally.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that relations with Azerbaijan are of great importance for his country.
According to him, the visit of Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, is significant for the development of cooperation between the two countries: "At the same time, we see Azerbaijan as a reliable strategic partner and ally."
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of joint projects, including the laying of communication and power lines along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.
