Today’s document, signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan clearly and explicitly declares our intention. It declares that we want peace, we want connectivity and communication. We want integration to take place between our countries, President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with the media regarding the results of his visit to the United States, APA reports.
The President stated that a safe passage between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan must be ensured: “This will also bring benefits to Armenia. In one of my conversations with the Prime Minister of Armenia, I said that Armenia will become a transit country. You do not know what it means to be a transit country, and you can only become one through Azerbaijan. Without Azerbaijan, it is impossible to achieve this, and you will also see its benefits. We want to become a serious and strong transit country. We want corridors—corridors that pass through our territory. These are opportunities Armenia currently lacks.
This route, which will bear Trump’s name, will truly be a historic achievement. But we must not waste time. The United States will oversee this route, and I hope that investors will come. These investors will undertake the establishment of this connection, and ultimately, all the countries of the region will benefit from it.”
