Political analyst: President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Kazakhstan will be remembered for new initiatives

Azerbaijan’s leader is among the guests who frequently visit Kazakhstan. Brother heads of state are always warmly welcomed in our country, Kazakh political analyst Aman Mambetaliyev said in a statement to APA.

According to him, modern relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are based on personal trust and mutual respect between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President Ilham Aliyev: “In an interview with APA information agency in 2024, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the strong foundation of partnership is built on ‘centuries-old ties of brotherhood and mutual support in the international arena.’

The Joint Statement signed in 2022 opened a new phase in strengthening strategic relations and deepening allied cooperation between the two countries. Based on it, the Supreme Intergovernmental Council, Business and Expert Councils have been established. In the past 1.5 years, around 40 bilateral documents have been signed. The President of Kazakhstan noted that since 2020, trade turnover between the countries has increased approximately fivefold, rising from 109 million dollars to 529 million dollars. Joint projects in the fields of transport, energy, and agriculture provide practical directions for cooperation. One of the examples that has become a symbol of brotherhood is the Kurmangazy Children’s Creativity Center built by Kazakhstan in Fuzuli.”

The expert noted that President Ilham Aliyev’s current visit will be remembered for new agreements and initiatives in various fields between the two countries, including digitalization and security.
