The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is equally important for every Armenian and Azerbaijani, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the award ceremony of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Abu Dhabi reports.

“When there is vision and wisdom, incredible things happen. I think the peace agreement happened because Armenia and Azerbaijan understood the importance of stopping the conflict now. Otherwise, it would never stop and would bring more and more suffering to both countries and peoples. But although the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is officially presented to the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, in fact, it is an achievement that belongs to our peoples. The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan have taken courageous steps, but what made the historic moment possible is the desire of our peoples to accept a new future. Therefore, this award is equally important for every Armenian and Azerbaijani who had the courage to vote for peace. I would like to thank both our peoples for understanding that the past is unchangeable and that we cannot do anything about it. That is why we should not focus on what we cannot change. We should focus on creating a peaceful and prosperous future for our nations,” Pashinyan noted.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan thanked US President Donald Trump.

“Many people died during the conflict. Peace is the greatest tribute to the victims. Your Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, on the occasion of this landmark event at which I receive the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, I would like to express my deep gratitude to US President Donald Trump. The key factor in the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan was personal involvement and commitment to the ideal of peace. We hope we will have the honor of attending the ceremony where US President Donald Trump is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize he deserves,” Pashinyan said.
